AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS
Akar Rumput Forum:
Culture, Ecology & Social Impact
A space for conversations on culture, ecology, and social impact
Indonesia House Amsterdam hosts a day of conversation, connection and root-level thinking. Initiated by Pariveśa Magazine, Akar Rumput Forum brings together Indonesian and Europe-based environmental professionals, young changemakers and early-career practitioners around one question: what does it mean to build things people can actually trust, in our cities, our systems, our stories?
Across the day:
The Credibility Triangle: ESG, Systems, and Creative Economy
Where ESG, creative economy and consumer trust meet, and whether the metrics we track address root causes or just displace harm.
Building Belonging: Architecture, Culture and the Future of Urban Life
How the spaces we build shape the communities we become.
Pecha Kucha: Systems Thinking & Cultural Sustainability Transition
Fast, sharp ideas on shifting how we think about change.
Community, Communication and the Stories That Shape Climate Action
Coastal protection, environmental media, Indigenous knowledge and visual storytelling, woven together.
Workshop: Sustainable AI
The true cost of AI through an ESG lens, ending with your own AI manifesto.
Art Performance
Closing the day with a live performance bringing the forum's themes to life.

THE HAGUE, THE NETHERLANDS
Coffee & Climate Stories #03
Some of the best conversations happen over coffee ☕ and this one might just spark something.
Join Xu Ben Zhang and Santi at Cademo Coffee in The Hague for an easy-going morning of climate stories, and the kind of conversation that doesn't need a stage to feel connected.
Xu Ben Zhang - Driven by a lifelong passion for climate action and the ocean, Xu is Managing Director at Kelp Forest Foundation (a non-profit building kelp research and awareness) and Co-Founder at SeaSpark (a start-up developing seaweed-based glitter).
With a background in Industrial Ecology, she brings a systems-thinking lens to translating research and innovation in seaweed into practical solutions for climate and nature.
Whether restoring kelp forests, developing biomaterials, or helping people appreciate this ecosystem, she's driven by a simple belief: nature can be the foundation of our future, built through strong partnerships across disciplines and geographies.
Santi Rahayu - Founder and creative director of Pariveśa, an online media platform supporting global conservationists through creative storytelling and events.
Specializes in transforming ideas into a variety of outputs, weaving the process in between, while curating and ensuring everything stays aligned. In addition to her creative work, she is passionate about conservation and environmentalism.
Whether you're deep in environmental work or simply curious about where the world is heading, you're welcome here. 🌏🌿
